Author: As a senior lighting designer, what do you think a good lighting designer needs? How do you position the lighting designer?
Jiao Shengjun: I think the first qualities that lighting designers must possess are: spatial scale, cultural accomplishment and creative ability. This is also the basic quality that general designers should have. I think that in addition to the creative ability, a good lighting designer should have a good understanding of the basic knowledge of light efficiency, color, electrical, lighting, control, etc. Without these foundations, it is difficult to become a good lighting designer.
The lighting designer can be said to be a “face-made article†designer. It can't handle a little bit of work, because everything you do will eventually be presented to everyone, and the lighting needs to be attached to the theme of architecture and landscape. Author: What is the original reason for you to choose this design path? What is most memorable?
Jiao Shengjun: I was born in the field of environmental art design, lighting design should also be its design category, but at that time there was no industry title for lighting design, and lighting design was rare. When I was close to graduation and took over a lighting design project, I felt that light was a wonderful thing. It would bring you some unexpected effects, so I slowly studied it. I didn’t think I would stop without doing it. Become a lighting designer.
The most memorable thing is the night when I was a child. When I was about to arrive home, I saw the kind of light that was naturally swayed from the windows and doors. It was warm and warm, and I thought it was the most beautiful light. I think that the fundamental of lighting design is the integration of light and environment. Author: What are the biggest difficulties and challenges you have encountered in lighting design for so many years? How to overcome it?
Jiao Shengjun: At present, LED lamps do not have strict standards and quality specifications, so that every time I complete the lamp, I have a headache. The technical parameters calculated by simulation and simulation are completely different effects for different manufacturers. Therefore, how to ensure the realization of design effects without strict standards and specifications to control LED products should be the biggest difficulty at present. Therefore, to solve this problem, we can only gradually build up our own database through the test light on the spot to overcome these problems, but it will waste a lot of manpower and material resources. If we want to solve it, we hope to introduce relevant lighting inspection standards as soon as possible. it.

Jiao Shengjun: Lighting design is of course the protagonist of the design concept, because no matter how good your creativity, you must finally achieve it through light. Jiao Shengjun: The lighting itself should express the connotation of its project. Any lighting design can not be separated from the project itself and exist independently. The degree of integration between design and project connotation directly determines the success of the project. For example, when we got the architectural plan of the Taishan Culture and Art Center, the design concept was “green leaves, vitalityâ€. Therefore, in the lighting design, we strengthen the architectural theme design concept of green leaves, integrate the landscape culture of Tai'an, highlight the design theme of harmonious harmony of all things, form the lighting design concept of “life, landscape and harmonyâ€, pay attention to the rhythm of curvaceous beauty and flowing stretch. , comprehensively expressed the connotation of the building.

But now many designers still do this, I think they are not real lighting designers, at least not the basic qualities of lighting design.

Jiao Shengjun: I think that the current understanding of lighting in domestic lighting design should be divided into three stages: First, the stage of product cognition, which is the initial stage of cognition, but the design most wants to know is some new products (especially It is the beginning of LED development. What kind of light can be emitted? The design of lighting is only for the project to be used for the project alone, so there is the era when the whole country has hooked up the digital tube in previous years;
Second, it is the preliminary cognitive stage of light, which is now a cognitive stage of light, and has a certain understanding of the characteristics of lighting products and light. Everyone has combined the different light sources to express the characteristics of the project, highlighting the characteristics of the individual buildings, and even starting to glare on some projects, while ignoring the needs of the surrounding environment, which is why the pollution of the environment is becoming more and more serious.
Third, it is the comprehensive cognitive stage of light, also known as the light environment creation stage: this is the future development direction of lighting design.
