     Reasonable pruning and scientific leaf picking are effective measures to adjust the plant type, coordinate the nutrition of the crop itself, and control the disease. It is also a necessary measure to obtain high yield and quality of the arched eggplant. What kind of pruning and picking method should be adopted for the arched eggplant?

Pruning   Eggplants generally use double main branching. That is, when the eggplant is divided, two branches with the same growth potential are selected as the main branches. Many vegetable farmers are accustomed to the main results of the two branches up to 1.5-1.8 meters topping, and then the main results of the side branches. And we advocate that the eggplant should be topped for continuous change to ensure that the results continue to layer. Generally, when the plant grows to a height of 1.1 meters, the strong lateral branches below are taken as the new main branch; the second topping is performed when the height of the plant is about 1.5 meters. In this way, through continuous topping, it not only can play the role of dwarf plants, but also can avoid the occurrence of faults.

Picking leaves   In the management of the long sheds in the arch shed, picking leaves is a very important part. Because reasonable leaf picking can not only reduce nutrient consumption, promote eggplant coloring, but also avoid field depression and prevent disease. However, in practice, many vegetable farmers do not look at the period, blindly picking leaves, so picking leaves is very unfavorable for the growth of long eggplant.

Of course, it is advisable to remove diseased leaves and old leaves to prevent diseases, but there is a degree in picking leaves. If the top new leaves are not yet fully developed, the ability of the leaves to produce nutrients is low, and the growth of new leaves requires a lot of nutrients, and other leaves are needed. At this time, it is not appropriate to pick leaves. The middle and upper leaves are fully developed, the photosynthetic efficiency is high, and the nutrient supply of eggplant fruits, roots, and new leaves is the main force of leaf photosynthesis and cannot be easily removed. Only the lower old leaves are limited in chlorophyll, the enzyme activity is reduced, and there is not enough light to produce nutrients. It is beneficial to plant the moderately removed leaves.

Leaf picking can also be carried out in several stages. Do not pick too much at one time, so that the lower part of the plant is almost a light stalk. In the initial stage, the leaves should be picked less, and if the leaves are picked, they should be removed from bottom to top. In general, do not pick the leaves before the main branches are placed, because the lower leaves are also responsible for the growth of the roots of the nutrient supply. If the lower leaves are more or more yellow, they should be removed in time.

In addition, there are fewer fertilizers and less leaves, and less leaves are needed when the growth is not good. In general, it is appropriate to keep 2-3 leaves in the lower part of the large fruit . Now the temperature is still high, and the side branches sprout very quickly, which is easy to cause the field to be covered.
