Suzuki Jimny fixed bolts loosened global recall of 77,000 small SUVs

According to a comprehensive foreign news report, Suzuki Motor has recently recalled two models, Jimny and AZ-Offroad, in Japan and overseas markets, including the Chinese market.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) issued a circular on May 16, stating that Suzuki (China) will recall 6,131 Jiminis with an engine displacement of 1.3 liters. The production date is from May 14, 2012 to March 24, 2014. It has been reported that the relevant vehicles have reduced the tightening torque of the fixing bolts due to the use of the elastic washers of the joints of the tie rods and the axle shells in the front wheel cushioning device, resulting in insufficient torque and eventually causing the fixing bolts to loosen.

If the fixing bolt is loose, it will cause abnormal noise and steering wheel shake. If the above phenomenon continues to be used, the bolt will fall off, and the steering performance will be degraded. Due to the jitter, the stability of the vehicle body will also decrease, posing a safety hazard.

In addition to Jimny, the recall involved AZ-Offroad, which is branded Mazda in Japan, involving a total of 31,744 vehicles. In addition to the 6,131 vehicles in the Chinese market, the recall involved 45,589 vehicles in overseas markets such as Germany and Australia, with a total market volume of 77,333 vehicles.
