London will establish the world’s first solar bridge

One of the world’s largest solar bridges will be built on the Thames. The bridge will be converted from the Blackfriars Railway Bridge in central London and will consist of more than 6,000 square meters of photovoltaic materials. The number of photovoltaic panels will exceed 4,400 and is expected to generate approximately 900,000 kilowatts per year. At the time of the power, the bridge was built by British company Solar Century. The bridge was first established in 1886. The solar technology will rejuvenate the 100-year-old bridge. Apart from the solar panels manufactured by Sanyo Electric, the bridge will also include a rainwater collection system and natural solar lighting.
