On January 24-30, 2013, the 2013 India International Machine Tool and Tools Exhibition (2013IMTEX&Tooltech) hosted by the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (IMTMA) was held in Bangalore, southern India. The China Machine Tool Industry Association sent the executive vice chairman Wu. A six-member delegation led by Berlin was invited to participate in the exhibition.

First, the basic situation of the exhibition
According to the organizers, the India International Machine Tool and Tools Exhibition is one of the largest professional exhibitions of machine tools in South Asia and Southeast Asia. It has been in existence for more than 40 years and was held every two years. Due to the huge demand in the Indian machine tool market and the limited exhibition area, the exhibition has been held once a year since 2009. The odd-numbered years are mainly metal cutting machine tools and tools and accessories. In even years, the forming machine tools, tools and accessories are the main ones. This year's show will feature the gold cutting machine tools and tools, the full name of the 16th IMTEX2013 and the fifteenth Tooltech2013. The theme of this year's show is: Make India a manufacturing powerhouse, showing India's determination to develop manufacturing.

The exhibition will occupy all 5 exhibition halls of Bangalore International Exhibition Center with a total exhibition area of 47,000 square meters. The exhibition attracted a total of 947 exhibitors, of which 497 were from 24 countries and regions outside India. India's local gold cutting machine tool and tool manufacturing companies have a 95% participation rate. The popularity of the entire exhibition has been very strong. According to the organizers, this exhibition will receive 110,000 visitors during the 7-day exhibition.

2. Exhibitors and exhibits
1. Exhibition of internationally renowned enterprises
The countries and regions with a large number of exhibitors are 135 in Germany, 60 in Japan, 59 in China, 55 in Taiwan, 44 in Italy, 35 in the United States, 26 in Switzerland, 22 in Spain and 20 in South Korea. Among these overseas exhibitors, the proportion of agents is relatively high.

Most of the internationally renowned machine tool manufacturers have made their debut at the show. Among them, DMG-Sen Seiki, Yamazaki Mazak and MAG have a large area, and the booth is eye-catching. Daxie, Toyota Machine, Harding, Haas, Doosan, Gleason, Sly Fulin, JUNKER, Sodick, AgieCharmilles, Julang, Fanuc, Siemens, HEIDENHAIN, THK, Sandaway Ke, Mitsubishi Electric, Seco, Walter, Carl Zeiss, Renishaw, etc., all exhibited in special booths and became the highlights of the exhibition.

Internationally renowned manufacturers have selected some general-purpose, mid-range and medium-sized products for the Indian market.

2. Participation of local Indian companies
Among the many exhibitors in India, Ace Group, JOYTI, HMT Machine Tool, Precision Engineering, Batliboi, Gedee Weiler, Bosch, Lakshmi, Precision Grinding, Miven Mayfran, PARI, PMT, TAL, Yuken and so on. Among them, the coverage of the first three varieties is larger, which also reflects the highest level of Indian machine tools.

Most of the Indian machine tool exhibitors are directly exhibiting by the company. The exhibits are mainly CNC machine tools and a large number of ordinary machine tools. Many companies have exhibited mid-range and general-purpose three-axis machining centers. The specifications are also relatively complete in the small and medium size range. JOYTI exhibited three different series of five-axis machines, and Ace exhibited 35 products, including vertical and horizontal machining centers and drilling centers. TAL has once again exhibited parallel machining centers after 2011, attracting a lot of attention.

3. Participation of Chinese companies
Most of the 59 Chinese exhibiting companies participated in the CCPIT Mechanical Branch and the Supply and Marketing Branch, and each was independently exhibiting. Among the Chinese exhibitors, there are many key enterprises in the industry or well-known domestic enterprises, such as Dalian Machine Tool, Beijing Yi Machine Tool, Wuzhong, Anyang Xinsheng, Hanjiang Machine Tool, Fain CNC, Wei Da Heavy Industry, Chengliang, Zhun Drill, and Shanggong. It shows that China's machine tool enterprises pay close attention to the Indian market. On the other hand, except for Dalian machine tools, Chinese exhibitors are exhibiting at standard booths, and most of them are directly exhibiting. Exhibitors in China, except for the exhibits of several ordinary lathes, rocker drills and measuring tools, were mostly exhibited in the form of exhibition boards.

During the exhibition, the delegation carried out a large number of investigation and exchange activities. He visited all the booths of the China Pavilion and several international booths such as THK, DMG and MAG, and exchanged views with the exhibitors on the Indian machine tool market. Wu Bolin, executive vice chairman and honorary chairman of the meeting, met with the senior consultant of the Ministry of Heavy Industry of India, held friendly talks with the president and CEO of the Indian Machine Tool Association, and accepted a TV interview with the official media of the exhibition.

The delegation also visited three companies of the Ace Group, namely AMS, Ace Designers and PRAGATI, which are all machine tools and components companies with high technical and management levels in India.

All the inspection activities achieved the expected results and deepened the understanding of the Indian machine tool industry and the machine tool market.

Third, the intuitive impression of the Indian machine tool industry
1. The exhibition reflects the trend of local market demand
The exhibitors in India and abroad are very representative, and the exhibits are aimed at the needs of the Indian machinery industry at this stage, based on the principle of advanced application. Mid-range upper and lower, medium and small size, general-purpose CNC machine tools are the mainstream of the current Indian market demand.

On this basis, the demand for five-axis and precision, high-speed, high-efficiency and other products is increasing. Some exhibitors have slogan of complete solutions, which basically reflect the next development trend of Indian machine tool technology.

2. India's machine tool market has great potential and is worthy of attention.
The users of Indian machine tools are mainly in the automotive industry, accounting for 65%. Other user industries include aviation, shipbuilding and rail transportation. India's car production in 2012 was 2 million, which is only 10% of China's, and the car grade is lower. India is a potential machine tool market, and China's machine tool enterprises should strive to open up this market.

3. India has a more standardized machine tool enterprise
The development of the Indian machine tool industry started in the 1950s, and it is basically synchronized with the start-up time of China's machine tool industry. But on the whole, its scale and level are quite different from those in China. According to the Indian Machine Tool Association, the Indian machine tool market is highly concentrated. Four companies account for 25% of the market, 25 companies account for 45%, and a large number of other companies account for the remaining 30%. Judging from the three companies visited this time, it is relatively standardized in terms of company management and process control. The technical level and grade of some products are no less than those of some mainstream enterprises in China.
