Philippines to approve the cultivation of genetically modified rice

According to the Manila Bulletin of the Philippines on March 18th, Robert Ziegler, head of the International Rice Research Institute headquartered in Manila, declared that the Philippines is likely to become an Asian country following China's approval of large-scale planting of genetically modified rice in 2011. The Philippines is the world’s largest importer of rice. In recent years, it has been actively conducting farm experiments on genetically modified rice.
