The other is the import of genetically modified agricultural products used for processing raw materials in China, including soybeans, corn, rapeseed, etc. At present, China has issued five imported genetically modified soybean varieties and 13 genetically modified maize varieties. The import safety certificate, approved applications and imported genetically modified organisms are all After strict environmental safety and food safety evaluation. Safety assessments indicate that these approved and imported GMOs and non-GMOs have the same safety and can be eaten with confidence.

2. How do you view the safety of GM foods?

GM is the focus of everyone's attention. We cannot simply say that genetic safety is not safe. GM is a technology and it is neutral. It depends on whether the application of this technology is good or bad. In 2003, the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) passed the standard document “Safety Assessment Guide for Recombinant DNA Plants and Food Safety” on the safety testing of transgenic plants. At present, this guideline has become an international standard and internationally it follows this guideline to evaluate the safety of foods for genetically modified foods.

Prior to entering the market, genetically modified foods have undergone rigorous safety evaluation. They are more comprehensive and stricter than any previous food safety assessment, including environmental safety assessments, toxic safety assessments, and sensitization safety assessments.
