The National Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Furniture Decoration Chamber recently released the "2012 Chinese Cabinet Industry Consumption Report," which issued eight warnings about the widespread issues in the cabinet industry. The report specifically highlighted the prevalence of "false" practices, such as counterfeit brands and misleading environmental protection claims. One of the main concerns is the low barriers to entry in the cabinet industry, which has led to a large number of unbranded manufacturers flooding the market. Some companies take advantage of this by using "brand-name" strategies to mislead consumers. Many buyers are not equipped with the knowledge to distinguish between real and fake brands. After seeing a product labeled as a well-known brand, they often assume they're getting a genuine one—without realizing they've been deceived. When purchasing cabinets, environmental safety is usually the top priority for most consumers, as the quality of the materials directly affects their health and living environment. However, the market is currently saturated with products that claim to be eco-friendly, making it difficult for buyers to tell the difference between authentic and fake environmental protection certifications. This can lead to serious consequences, such as poor indoor air quality or even long-term health risks. Therefore, it's crucial for consumers to carefully evaluate the environmental claims made by manufacturers and avoid ending up with a "gas canister" at home. Currently, many well-established brands in the industry use panels that meet the European E1 environmental standards. However, due to the limited understanding of these standards among average consumers, experts recommend choosing cabinets that carry the "China Environmental Label" issued by the State Environmental Protection Administration. This certification, also known as the "Ten-ring Certification," is highly reputable. To qualify, companies must prove that they are among the top 30 in their respective industries before being eligible for certification. Obtaining this label is a strong indicator of a company’s credibility, innovation, and commitment to environmental responsibility. By choosing certified products, consumers can make more informed decisions and ensure they’re investing in safe, high-quality cabinetry that supports both their health and the environment.
