Global DCS industry market rebounded favorably in the domestic power sector

Distributed Control System (DCS) is a sophisticated control solution widely used in industrial automation, particularly in power generation and process industries. Over the past few years, the DCS market has evolved into a service-driven industry, where project implementation and after-sales support account for nearly half of total revenue. Running on the Windows platform, these systems feature user-friendly interfaces, easy configuration, and full Chinese support, making them accessible and practical for local engineers. The software covers all essential functions required in power plants, demonstrating that domestic DCS systems meet current design standards.
According to Zhu Beiheng, Deputy Chief Engineer at Zhejiang Electric Power Company, domestic DCS systems have advanced significantly through years of R&D and integration of foreign technologies. Major power generation groups have benefited from this progress, with improved performance, functionality, and reliability. Domestic systems also offer better integration capabilities, as seen in the successful deployment of Guodian Zhishen EDPF-NT at Zhuanghe Power Plant. This achievement marks a breakthrough in breaking foreign dominance in high-end automation control.
Additionally, domestic DCS systems provide cost advantages, with equipment investment typically 50% lower than imported alternatives. Their uniform data communication protocols and simplified maintenance further enhance their appeal. As the market continues to evolve, the role of domestic DCS in driving innovation and reducing dependency on foreign suppliers will only grow stronger.
