1. Raw materials for making hay cutting time
Leguminous forages are generally castrated from the bud to the early flowering stage, and the grasses are usually castrated at the heading stage.
2. Method of making hay
(1) Field drying method
According to the local climatic conditions, choose the flat drying method, the small pile of drying grass method or the flat pile combined with the drying grass method. The entire process of drying the grass should minimize the turnover and handling to reduce the loss of the blade.
(2) Grass frame drying method
This method is often used in wet areas or in rainy seasons. The grasses that are drying on the racks should be stacked in a conical or ridge shape. They should be piled up to be fluffy. The thickness should not exceed 80 cm. Keep the air flowing, and the outer layer should be flat and maintain a certain inclination.
(3) Artificial drying method
Through the artificial heat source, the drying process is completed under the complete control of the dehydration of the forage. Commonly used is a normal temperature blast drying method, that is, constructing a hay shed, using a blower to air dry the grass; low temperature drying method, that is, constructing a grass drying room, and setting an air preheating pot and a blower to dry the forage; a high temperature rapid drying method, After the grass is chopped, it is dried using a forage dryer.
Second, the storage of hay
Indoor stacking: When stacking, the hay and the roof should be kept at a certain distance, which is conducive to ventilation and heat dissipation.
Open-air stacking: Select a high and flat dry place, the bottom of the bottom should be 30 ~ 50 cm above the ground, try to compact when stacking, to cap to prevent rain.
