The EU is preparing to impose a temporary anti-dumping duty of 11.8% on Chinese solar cells, modules, and wafers, while China has threatened to retaliate with a double anti-dumping tariff of 67.9%. From the perspective of these retaliatory tariffs, the broader trade war between China and the EU is intensifying. The EU is expected to announce on August 5 whether it will impose additional tariffs on PV modules that have benefited from Chinese state subsidies. If no agreement is reached, further punitive measures could be introduced, with a potential 90-day investigation period for enforcement.
