Another record: Wireless transmission rate reaches 6Gbps

Recently, a research team from Germany has developed a new wireless data transmission system that achieves a record-breaking 6Gbps wireless transmission rate. During the test, the system's maximum transmission distance was 23 miles (about 37 kilometers).

It is understood that researchers from the University of Stuttgart and the Fraunhofer Institute of Applied Solid State Physics in Germany formed the research team and completed the testing process on a 45-story building in the small town of Wattberg near Cologne, Germany.

In order to ensure the transmission distance, the research team also developed a powerful transmitter with a GaN amplifier that not only enhances the signal but also transmits it through a parabolic antenna. The researchers said that 6Gbps transmission speed is fast enough to transmit a normal DVD content in less than 10 seconds.

At present, the record of this wireless transmission speed is their own announcement, and their research results still need to be independently verified or published for peer review. However, these scientists have already begun a follow-up project, their goal is to allow the Earth observation satellite to have better data communication.
