In response to the recent release of new distributed power generation policies by the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission, China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. has officially issued the "Guiding Opinions on Further Supporting the Development of New Energy Sources such as Photovoltaic Power." This document covers various aspects, including grid connection, power purchase, electricity sales, and dispatch management, aiming to promote the orderly and coordinated growth of new energy sources. In addition, to better support the integration of distributed power systems, the State Grid Corporation is expanding its role beyond providing technical consulting, project acceptance, and commissioning. It is now focusing more on strengthening distribution network infrastructure to accommodate large-scale distributed power access. As key players in implementing national policies for distributed power development, both major grid companies are expected to play a critical role in accelerating the growth of distributed energy projects.
Renhao Ning, an energy industry researcher at China Investment Advisors, notes that while distributed energy may not become the main driver of China’s energy supply, it still serves as a vital complement to traditional energy bases. In the long term, the development of distributed energy aligns with China’s broader energy restructuring goals, and such projects are likely to attract increasing attention from both businesses and investors.
Crucial to the success of distributed energy projects are grid-connected policies and subsidy mechanisms. Without effective implementation of these measures, the profitability of such projects could be significantly undermined, leading to reduced enthusiasm among developers and investors. Especially for new energy sectors like distributed photovoltaics, wind, and biomass energy, reliance on subsidies and supportive grid policies remains high. Despite multiple national directives urging grid companies to provide adequate support, progress has been limited, and further efforts are needed to ensure smooth implementation.
During the grid connection process, distributed energy systems require more advanced power equipment, which leads to a significant increase in demand for components like inverters. As the distributed energy sector continues to grow, work related to power grid construction will also expand, potentially driving strong revenue growth for the power equipment industry. Meanwhile, listed companies are already preparing for the next round of bidding for power equipment. Both the State Grid and China Southern Power Grid are expected to soon initiate procurement processes for equipment used in distributed energy projects.
According to the "2013–2017 China's New Energy Industry Investment Analysis and Prospect Forecast Report" by China Investment Advisors, China has made remarkable progress in developing and utilizing new and renewable energy sources. Technological advancements have been substantial, and industrialization has taken shape. Emerging energy sources such as biomass, nuclear, geothermal, hydrogen, and ocean energy show great potential and have seen significant development in recent years. Among these, the scale and efficiency of distributed energy systems are expected to improve dramatically. During the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan†period, China’s distributed energy industry is anticipated to enter a phase of rapid expansion.
A mini air valve is a small, compact valve used to control the flow of air in a system or device. It is typically designed to be lightweight and space-saving, making it suitable for applications where size and weight are critical factors.
