Sanma Research Institute Superhard Disc Technology Project won the China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award

Abstract Recently, the China Machinery Industry Federation and the China Mechanical Engineering Society issued the "Notice on Commending the 2013 China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Awards Award Project" under Zhongji Lianke [2013] No. 525. This notice highlighted the outstanding contributions made by various organizations and individuals in the field of machinery industry science and technology. Among the honored projects was the one led by our company titled "Development of Key Technologies for Super-hard Material Grinding Discs for Precision and High-efficiency Double-face Grinding," which received the 2013 China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award.
The successful implementation of this project addressed critical technical challenges in the production of ultra-hard grinding discs with features such as super-precision, large diameter, wide contact surface, and high efficiency. It marked a significant breakthrough in China's precision grinding technology and enabled the development of a product that reached the performance level of imported grinding discs.
This achievement helped bridge the technological gap between China’s superhard material abrasive manufacturing and international standards. It contributed to the advancement of the abrasives industry, enhanced the quality of domestic superhard materials, and reduced the performance gap compared to foreign counterparts. The project also provided crucial support to local enterprises, enabling them to compete more effectively in the market.
Moreover, the project led to a cost reduction of over 30% for users, significantly improving their competitiveness. In addition, it facilitated the training of a professional technical team within the company, with an increase of 30 new employees, thereby playing a positive role in promoting employment and economic growth.
