These four standards include the national standards "Limit of harmful substances in soft furniture mattresses", "Limit of harmful substances in soft furniture sofas", "Determination of dimethyl fumarate content in furniture", and light industry standards "Soft furniture sofa". Among them, the "Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Upholstered Furniture Mattresses" standard is the first international standard that comprehensively controls the limit of harmful substances in sofas. The implementation of the "Determination of Dimethyl Fumarate in Furniture" standard will effectively control consumers' skin irritation and pimples.
It is understood that in recent years, furniture manufacturers have continuously introduced new processes and new materials, which has also brought some safety problems. For example, in the second quarter of 2010, the Shenzhen Municipal Market Supervision Bureau conducted a random inspection of the upholstered furniture produced in our city. The sampling pass rate was 70.77%, and some upholstered furniture was found to have exceeded the formaldehyde standard. Last year, the results of a random inspection of soft furniture released by the Guangzhou Municipal Market Supervision Bureau in the second quarter showed that the disqualification rate was 30%. The reason for the disqualification was that the formaldehyde emission from the household exceeded the standard. Experts pointed out that the introduction of the new standard will make the furniture industry further standardized.
