Spot rubber prices in Asia rise and fall

Spot rubber prices in Asia rise and fall Singapore traders reported that during the holiday season, there has been a noticeable surge in demand for individual rubber products, which has contributed to upward pressure on local prices. In Kuala Lumpur, exporters noted that the recent rise in rubber prices in Malaysia is largely driven by strong demand for synthetic rubber, especially from the automotive and manufacturing sectors. Looking at the latest data, Thailand’s RSS3 series rubber was sold between 313-316 cents per kilogram from January to February, slightly down from the previous range of 315-317 cents per kilogram. Meanwhile, Thailand’s standard rubber tire, STR20, was priced at 300-302 cents per kilogram, up from 298-300 cents in the previous period. Indonesia’s standard rubber tires, SIR20, remained stable during the same period, with a shipping price of 289-290 cents per kilogram, matching the previous range. In Malaysia, SMR20 rubber tires saw a small increase, with a shipping price of 295-297 cents per kilogram, compared to 294-295 cents previously. Overall, the Asian rubber market appears to be showing mixed trends, with some regions experiencing slight price increases while others remain stable. Analysts suggest that continued demand from key industries and seasonal factors will likely influence price movements in the coming months.
