Video surveillance into the examination site

The 2013 Master's Entrance Examination is scheduled to take place from January 5 to June 6, and all examination rooms in Hebei Province will now be equipped with video surveillance systems. This measure aims to ensure a fair and transparent testing environment. Any candidate found violating the rules can be identified through video playback, which will serve as solid evidence for disciplinary actions.

It is strictly prohibited to bring any items such as communication devices, books, magazines, newspapers, manuscripts, pictures, materials, electronic devices with storage or programming capabilities, correction fluids, and tapes into the examination hall. These items are considered potential tools for cheating and must not be brought in under any circumstances.

In line with the regulations issued by the Ministry of Education regarding the standardization of national exam sites, Hebei Province has also updated its rules for postgraduate entrance exams. All test centers have been fitted with video monitoring systems. After the exam, staff will review the footage to detect any misconduct. If cheating is confirmed, the involved candidates will face thorough investigations and appropriate penalties.

To prevent the use of high-tech cheating methods in future exams, proctors will conduct strict security checks, including identity verification and inspection of personal belongings. Candidates are advised to avoid wearing clothes or accessories containing metal to minimize delays during screening. In the exam room, no stationery or supplies may be shared between candidates. Any violation will be handled according to the "Measures for Handling Non-compliance in National Education Examinations," and the incident will be recorded in an electronic integrity file.

Additionally, the Provincial Education Examination Institute reminds candidates that in the upcoming Master’s Exam, all examination rooms in Hebei will be equipped with wall clocks to help students manage their time effectively. However, the official exam time will be determined by the signals given at the test center. Therefore, candidates are not allowed to bring chronographs, pencil cases, or glasses boxes into the room. Only essential stationery—such as black ink pens, pencils, and erasers—should be carried, as specified on the admission ticket. Candidates are also advised to prepare a knife and glue stick in advance if they need to open or seal their test bags.
