Singapore traders noted that during the holiday season, demand for individual rubber products has seen a noticeable uptick. This surge in demand is believed to be driven by increased consumption in various sectors, including automotive and manufacturing.
Meanwhile, exporters in Kuala Lumpur reported that the recent rise in rubber prices in Malaysia can be attributed to strong market demand for synthetic rubber, which has been on the rise due to its versatility and cost-effectiveness compared to natural alternatives.
Looking at Thailand's pricing trends, the RSS3 series of natural rubber was shipped at 313-316 cents per kilogram from January to February, slightly lower than the previous range of 315-317 cents per kilogram. Meanwhile, standard rubber tire grade STR20 was priced at 300-302 cents per kilogram, up from 298-300 cents per kilogram in the prior period.
In Indonesia, the standard rubber tire SIR20 remained stable at 289-290 cents per kilogram, matching the previous range. On the other hand, Malaysia's standard rubber tire SMR20 saw a slight increase, with shipping prices reaching 295-297 cents per kilogram, compared to 294-295 cents per kilogram in the previous period.
Overall, the rubber market in Asia remains dynamic, influenced by seasonal demand, production levels, and global economic conditions. Traders are closely monitoring these trends to adjust their strategies accordingly.
