Video surveillance into the examination site

The 2013 Master's Entrance Examination is scheduled to take place from January 5 to June 6, and all examination rooms in Hebei Province will be equipped with video surveillance systems. This measure aims to ensure a fair and transparent testing environment. Any candidates found violating the rules can be identified through video playback, which will serve as evidence for disciplinary actions. It is strictly prohibited to bring items such as communication devices, books, magazines, newspapers, manuscripts, pictures, materials, electronic devices with storage, programming, or query functions, as well as correction fluids and tapes into the examination room.

As part of the national standardization efforts by the Ministry of Education, Hebei Province has also updated its regulations for postgraduate entrance exams. All test centers now have video surveillance installed. After the exam, staff members will review the footage to detect any misconduct. If cheating is confirmed, the case will be thoroughly investigated and reported accordingly.

In addition, to prevent the use of advanced technology for cheating in the future, proctors will conduct thorough safety checks, identity verification, and personal item inspections for all candidates. To make the security process smoother, it is recommended that candidates avoid wearing clothes or accessories containing metal. During the exam, students are not allowed to exchange stationery or other items among themselves. Any violations will be handled according to the "Measures for Handling Non-compliance in National Education Examinations" and will be recorded in an electronic integrity file.

Furthermore, the Provincial Education Examination Institute reminds candidates that during the next year’s Master’s Exam, each examination room in Hebei will be equipped with a wall clock to help them manage their time. However, the official exam time will be determined by the signal given at the examination site. Candidates are not allowed to bring chronographs, pencil cases, glasses cases, or similar items into the room. Only essential stationery, such as black ink pens, pencils, and erasers, should be brought, as specified on the admission ticket. To avoid issues during security checks, it is advisable to avoid wearing clothing or accessories with metal components. Candidates taking the subject test must dismantle and reseal their test bags in advance, so they should prepare tools like a knife and glue stick beforehand.
