Abstract Although Chinese diamond tools have been widely applied across various industries and brought significant economic benefits, their technical standards still lag behind those of similar foreign products. To address this gap, it is essential to accelerate the development of the hardware and tool industry, focus on innovation in new products and advanced technologies, and enhance overall efficiency and competitiveness. This will not only drive industrial growth but also improve China's position in the global market.

Domestic hardware tools are extensively used in fields such as geology, stone processing, machinery, automotive, and defense. These products have achieved standardization and series production, with a wide range of specifications and stable quality. Some of them already hold competitive advantages in the international market. The key strategy involves increasing investment in the industry, promoting new technologies and processes, expanding the application areas of diamond tools, and continuously improving both technical levels and market competitiveness. By focusing on product variety, quality, and technological advancement, the industry can achieve sustainable development.

To meet growing domestic and international demand, there is an urgent need to speed up the development of new products, improve quality, expand the range of offerings, and increase production capacity. In recent years, the demand for diamond tools has surged in sectors like machinery, gemstone processing, medical equipment, wood, glass fiber, stone crafts, ceramics, and composite non-metallic materials. However, many of these products are still imported, which highlights the importance of developing high-quality domestic alternatives. Key products under development include PDC drill bits for oil drilling, diamond grinding blocks for stone polishing, engineering thin-wall drill bits, diamond honing stones, film-coated diamond tools, diamond rollers, rubber-bonded diamond plastic tools, PCD diamond tools, diamond needles, nozzles, heat sinks, and triodes.

To ensure product quality, it is crucial to promote new technologies and processes such as vacuum brazing, EDM, diamond uniformity techniques, rhodium plating, metallization bonding, and laser welding.

Strengthening internal management, optimizing production processes, reducing costs, and improving operational efficiency are also vital steps.

The industry should pursue a path of group formation or joint ventures, establishing large-scale enterprise groups to guide development, build strong brands, and actively engage in global competition. By relying on scientific and technological progress, increasing R&D investment, modernizing equipment, and focusing on the research and promotion of new technologies and products, China’s hardware industry can significantly elevate its technical capabilities and global standing.
