Afterward, allow the mixture to reflux for 20 minutes, then adjust the pH to 5 with formic acid before continuing to reflux for another 30 minutes. Next, neutralize the mixture with a 40% sodium hydroxide solution and add additional urea (second dose). Adjust the pH to 5.8 using a formic acid solution, and continue heating the mixture until it reaches a viscosity of 11.5 cps at 20°C. This will yield your adhesive.

When applying the adhesive, first roughen the bonding surface using a hair-punching machine or sandpaper. Apply the adhesive evenly across the surface of the adherend. Allow it to set briefly before pressing the two adherends together firmly and adding weight to ensure a strong bond. Make sure the surfaces are properly aligned before securing them in place.

Remember that proper preparation of the bonding surfaces is crucial for achieving maximum adhesion strength. It’s also important to handle all chemicals safely and follow any additional instructions provided by the manufacturer.
